Our Partnerships

At Watsonville Community Hospital our commitment to delivering exceptional care to our community is at the heart of everything we do. We recognize the power of collaboration to broaden our expertise, so we partner with many outstanding organizations to meet the healthcare needs of our community and create a better patient experience.

Since 2009, RPM Rehab has been a trusted partner of Watsonville Community Hospital, staffing our Rehabilitation Services department. RPM Rehab’s physical rehabilitation experts draw on their extensive expertise to deliver services designed to specifically meet the needs of our patients every day. Thanks to our partnership with RPM Rehab, we have exceptionally talented physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists who provide more than just therapeutic exercises and modalities. They provide a comprehensive, personalized approach to care that recognizes each patient’s unique needs

Stanford pediatricians have provided comprehensive pediatric care at Watsonville Community Hospital since 2011. These pediatric hospitalists provide 24-hour/7-days-a-week inpatient pediatric care, including newborn nursery care, level II NICU, pediatric unit and urgent Emergency department evaluation. They work collaboratively with our nursing team, lactation specialists and occupational therapists to ensure our newborn babies get the best possible start. They care for a wide range of common and complex newborn as well as pediatric diagnoses and are the only board-certified pediatric hospitalists in Santa Cruz County.

In 2017 Kaiser Permanente began serving its health plan members at its three medical offices in Santa Cruz County (in Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Watsonville). At the same time, Kaiser plan members began receiving hospital services and inpatient care at Watsonville Community Hospital. Watsonville Community Hospital is the designated Kaiser-affiliated hospital for Kaiser members throughout Santa Cruz and northern Monterey counties. More than 20 Kaiser hospitalists practice here, providing first-class care to our patients, conducting thorough patient chart review, expert care, and follow up with our patients’ primary care and specialist doctors to ensure seamless coordination of care.
Watsonville Community Hospital partners with over 600 doctors, including highly skilled physicians who provide hospitalist services to our patients. Salud Para La Gente, a nonprofit healthcare organization with clinics in Santa Cruz and northern Monterey Counties, provides obstetric hospitalists who deliver hundreds of babies every year. Vituity, a medical practice group owned and led by physicians, provides critical emergency medicine at Watsonville Community Hospital’s Emergency Department. US Acute Care Solutions, a physician-owned provider of integrated acute care medicine, provides hospitalist care to patients admitted to Watsonville Community Hospital.
At Watsonville Community Hospital, we work collaboratively with other hospitals throughout the Central Coast every day, with transfer agreements in place that allow us to transfer patients out or receive patients in, when it is in the patient’s best interest to do so. In addition to this ongoing collaboration, we have a Reciprocal Laboratory Services Agreement with Dominican Dignity Health. Completing laboratory tests in a timely fashion and getting lab results to healthcare providers and patients is paramount to high quality care. This important agreement allows the two hospitals to support each other when volumes are high, or resources are stretched thin at either hospital.
