24/7 access to substance use disorder treatment in the Emergency Room

Substance Use Navigator, Compassion Over Stigma

What does it mean to have a Substance Use Navigator?

Once immediate medical needs have been addressed, our Substance Use Navigator assists patients of any age, from youth to geriatric, by:

  • Assessing level of care needed for the patient’s Substance Use Disorder (SUD), including low-barrier access to Suboxone if appropriate
  • Providing:
    • SUD consultation for the patient/family
    • Community referrals
    • Post-discharge support
    • Patient advocacy
    • Extensive community collaboration

Free Narcan® upon request

Anyone can pick up Narcan® (naloxone HCI) nasal spray in our Emergency Room. If you have Narcan® nasal spray during an overdose, you may save a life. Our nurses will provide basic training on how to administer it.
