At Watsonville Community Hospital, we offer pediatric services designed to meet the unique health and wellness needs of newborns, infants, children and adolescents. We take a family-based approach to treatment and strive to make you and your child as comfortable as possible during your stay.

The Stanford Pediatric Hospitalist Program at Watsonville Community Hospital

Watsonville Community Hospital offers quality healthcare for your baby or child with our Pediatric Hospitalist Services provided by Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. The pediatric hospitalists work with our hospital team and your child’s physician to provide inpatient medical care throughout your child’s hospital stay.

Pediatric hospitalists are pediatricians who practice exclusively in a hospital setting and specialize in providing newborn and pediatric inpatient care around the clock, 24 hours a day. They work together with your child’s physician to administer and oversee your child’s treatment. Pediatric hospitalists are board certified/board eligible in pediatric medicine. They work as a healthcare team so you may see more than one hospitalist during your child’s stay with us.

Our hospitalist team offers an added advantage. If your infant or child requires specialty care, the hospitalists have a direct link to the specialty pediatric services provided at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford.

When your child is discharged from our hospital, you will return to your regular pediatrician or other community-based caregiver, to continue the care plan coordinated between your child’s regular physician and the hospitalist.
