At Watsonville Community Hospital, we offer pediatric services designed to meet the unique health and wellness needs of newborns, infants, children and adolescents. We take a family-based approach to treatment and strive to make you and your child as comfortable as possible during your stay.
The Pediatric Hospitalist Program at Watsonville Community Hospital
Watsonville Community Hospital offers quality healthcare for your baby or child with the Pediatric Hospitalist Services provided by Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. The pediatric hospitalists work with the hospital, the community and your child’s physician to provide inpatient medical care throughout your child’s hospital stay.
Pediatric hospitalists are pediatricians who specialize in providing newborn and pediatric inpatient care around the clock, 24 hours a day. They are knowledgeable of other hospital specialties and departments, and will work with nursing and your physician to administer and oversee your child’s treatment. They are dedicated to practicing exclusively in a hospital setting. Pediatric hospitalists are board certified/board eligible in pediatric medicine. They work as a healthcare team so you may see more than one hospitalist during your child’s stay with us.
Our hospitalist team offers an added advantage. If your infant or child requires specialty care, the hospitalists have a direct link to the specialty pediatric services provided at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Hospitalist care is provided by Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Medical Group. These hospitalists are independent members of the Medical Staff at Watsonville Community Hospital.
When your child is discharged from our hospital, you will return to your regular pediatrician or other community-based caregiver, to continue the care plan coordinated between your regular physician and the hospitalist.
